New theme, new day
So I decided to change up my Tumblr theme. Maybe it’ll get me back into the writing mood.
So- 2 more weeks, the NFL season begins and so does fantasy football, so amped and ready to do this. I’m kinda worried about the Colts- yeah, they did well without their full cast last year, but let’s look at the facts:
1) Booger McFarland and Rob Morris are gone. Everyone says, “Big deal, they barely played at all last season.” So? Still a great tackle, and a great linebacker, and when they were healthy, the contributed hugely. I really think the Colts could have at least traded them.
2) Bob Sanders’ injuries are lingering. “The Eraser” is a beast, but he needs to take a little time off. Get healthy. In 05, he made the Pro Bowl, played the first four games of the 06 season before he got hurt, and came back in dramatic fashion to help the Colts secure Indianapolis’ first championship. Played most of 07 hurt.
3) Dwight Freeney’s foot. A foot injury from last November doesn’t sound that bad, but lesser things have caused bigger problems for guys, even those of his caliber.
4) Marvin Harrison is a Hall of Fame WR. The injury he sustained last year scares me, and I hope he’s fully recovered from it. He hadn’t missed more than one game in a season since 1998, and last year he missed 11. When a guy is nearing the sunset of his career, injuries obviously play a bigger role.
5) Peyton’s knee. Yeah, it was a simple surgery, but knee surgery never equals anything good for a quarterback, even the non-human kind.
But fantasy football is looking up, I have a pretty solid squad in the unFiction fantasy league, and my personal league will be drafting Saturday night at 7 at Hooters in Clarksville, IN. Pop in if you’re around.
